Meet Erica
The owner + founder of Blind Tiger Mobile Bar Co.
Erica Russo has been involved in the restaurant and hospitality industry for over 24 years. She uses her vast knowledge of spirits and professional event execution to deliver an exhilarated bar experience.
In 2010, Erica established The Point Restaurant Group, consisting of two brick-and-mortar restaurants, The Point in Fells and The Point in Towson, along with The Point Catering. Most recently, Blind Tiger Mobile Bar Co. became a prominent part of this fantastic group.
In 2021, the first mobile bar was built out of a restored horse trailer, allowing this family-owned business to continue pursuing their dreams. Erica, her husband Mike, and her three children, Vanessa, Tyler, and Nico work hard everyday to keep this family venture thriving.
So, why the name “Blind Tiger”?
Blind Tiger was a term that originated during the prohibition. It referenced a place where liquor was sold illegally. The term derives its name from the practice of disguising bars as establishments exhibiting some sort of Blind Tiger displayed to evade the laws of prohibition.
The Blind Tiger name plays a very important role in Erica’s life, as it pays homage to her Chinese-American heritage. In the Chinese tradition, the Tiger is a symbol of bravery, courage, innovation, adventure, and ambition - all traits that Erica carries with her.
